Education is something very important for the Kang family.

Haneul was born into a loving family, his parents were professors at the local university and for that reason, Haneul and his younger sister were raised to be good students who saw their lessons as part of something fun and fulfilling, and not a tiring duty. His parents always encouraged Haneul to try and learn new things, books were introduced to him like toys, and that way they helped their little boy grow up with an unusual passion for knowledge and new discoveries.

Haneul was a very adventurous child, always climbing up trees and playing with the insects in their house’s backyard — something about them and how they behaved intrigued the little child. He developed a love for everything that had life: animals, vegetation, and even microorganisms. But it was in high school when he found out about his true love for life, of all forms and shapes, and he found all of that in biology.

He knew that was his passion, the thing he wanted to work with for the rest of his life. And he had his parents’ approval and support, of course.

They were so in love, that they decided to get married as soon as they finished high school.

    And so they did.

As expected, there was no way Haneul would study anywhere other than the university where his parents worked at, and that’s where he dove deep into his passion once again; he found himself in biology, and decided to take that with him for as long as he could. He dreamed of the day he’d be able to work with animals, maybe at a zoo, but until then he was happ
