Neel madhav biography

After the battle of Mahabharat came to end, Gandhari was mourning over her eldest son Duryodhan. She was furious with Lord Krishna as he didn't agree to her requests to avert the war and the subsequent catastrophe. In the feat of rage, she cursed Krishna that he will die after 36 years along with this kins who would die fighting with each other. Krishna, with a smile said "so be it". 

36 year passed and one day Sambha who was one of the sons of Krishna was playing prank of being a pregnant woman with a group of sages visiting Dwarka. One of the sage Kanva cursed him that Sambha will give birth to whatever he was hiding and the very thing will take the clan to extinction. Sambha was hiding a mace to look like a pregnant woman, so due to the sage's curse he gave birth to a mace. The elders in the family asked their people to destroy the mace and dispose off. The Yadavas ground the mace to powder, but a small triangular shape which was very hard remained. They threw the powder and the metallic triangle into the sea. Eventually the triangular shaped metal was swallowed by a fish which was caught by a hunter who made a poisonous arrow out of it.  

After his elder brother Balaram left for the heavenly abode, Krishna completely overwhelmed due to grief retreated to the bushes. The hunter who took the left foot of Krishna to be the ear of a deer, shot the poisonous arrow he made out of the triangular piece of metal he got out of the belly of the fish. This hunter was said to the reincarnation of Bali of Ramayana, killed by Rama who was another incarnation of Lord Vishnu. After the demise of the lord, his spirit (Bramha) took the shape of a small stone.

Representation of Hindu deity Vishnu

Nilamadhava (Odia: ନୀଳମାଧବ, Sanskrit: नीलमाधव, romanized: Nīlamādhava) is a manifestation of Vishnu and Krishna featured in Hindu literature, with its origin in Odia tradition. According to traditional accounts, prior to his syncretism into Vaishnavism, this was the name of a deity made of sapphire that was venerated by the aboriginal Savara people, whose leader was known as Vishvavasu.

Legend

According to the Puranas, Indradyumna, the king of Avanti, grew interested in venerating the deity Nilamadhava, made of sapphire. He is described to have sent the younger brother of his royal priest, or sometimes a minister, Vidyapati, to locate the site of the deity's image in the Nilagiri region. Regional folklore states that the priest was welcomed by Vishvavasu, the chieftain of the Savara people. During the duration of his stay in the chieftain's house, the latter's daughter, Lalita, fell in love with him. Upon the chieftain's request, Vidyapati married her. He noticed that the chieftain would leave the house every evening, and only return the following noon. At his urging, Lalita revealed to him that these were her father's visits to the shrine of Nilamadhava, whose location was held secret within the community. Vidyapati persuaded his wife to ask Vishvavasu to take him along to see the image of the deity. The chieftain agreed to take Vidyapati with him, but on the condition that he be blindfolded during the journey so that the shrine's location remained undisclosed. Lalita helped her husband devise a plan: Vidyapati brought a bag of mustard seeds with him, scattering them all along the path to the shrine present in a cave, bearing witness to the deep blue image of Nilamadhava. Indian illusionist and television personality (born 1993)

Neel Madhav (born 14 August 1993) is an Indian illusionist, mentalist, actor, educator, public speaker, television personality, and writer. He is the director of special projects at Fashion TV Paris, where he handles television distribution and programming.

Madhav hosts the travel and magic television show You Got Magic with Neel Madhav. He was included in the 2019 Forbes Asia Sports and Entertainment 30 under 30. His work incorporates mentalism, neuro-linguistic programming, and criminology. Madhav also specializes in nonverbal communication and body language and provides consultation services for companies.

Early life and education

Madhav was born on 14 August 1993 to Raghvendra Madhav, an investment banker, and Vinita Madhav, a scriptwriter and producer. His family lived in various locations, including New York City, Mumbai and New Delhi.

He attended The Doon School for his secondary education and received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from H.R. College of Commerce and Economics.

Madhav cites magicians James Randi and Jason Randal as inspirations, and David Blaine, Dynamo, and Derren Brown as role models.

Career

Madhav developed You Got Magic with Neel Madhav, which premiered on NDTV Good Times in 2014. The show features a combination of food, travel, adventure, and magic. The show began airing on Sony BBC Earth in March 2020.

His illusions include turning sand into gold, turning leaves into butterflies, making people forget how to read, and predicting newspaper headlines.
